First of all let me clear that, by popularity I don’t mean only the incoming traffic or Pagerank or any other ways by which a blog is measured which of course is a consequence of what you write. All the popular blogs didn’t become popular in a day or two. It definitely needs some time and strategy before you can call your blog "popular". It may be one of the several reasons below if you think why is it like that.
1. Popular blogs write GENUINE stuff or add value to already written stuff elsewhere and you deliver something which already got so popular somewhere else.
There are two ways of writing in your blog. Either you genuinely create your niche ideas or just write something which readers will be least bothered about. For example, let say you open CNET News, read the latest news that Apple has released new version of an iPhone which already had got so much media attention. And now, hours after the news you post that stale news on your blog. Does it really make any sense ? Though it’s a different story if you are adding the advantages and disadvantages of this new iPhone in your Blog in your opinion.
2. Popular blogs think in terms of their readers and you think in terms of money you’ll make from your article.
For a same article you’ll be happy if you get few dollars a day and no impressive readership. On the other hand, popular ones rather die for their readers and their involvement in the articles (read comments/trackbacks). Money is of course is result of it.
3. Popular blogger spends good time to write a great article and you think that whatever you write, your subscribers are enough to generate some impressions.
Eiffel Tower was not created in a day. You need to spend considerable time to write a good article for your blog. That also depends on your writing skills and creativity but believe me, things do improve with time.
4. Popular blogs do credit the work of others and you are even not that honest to give a reference of someone else’s writing on your blog.
It’s not just about name and fame. Internet is a different world, but people do socialize here.In fact blog socializing is quite helpful sometimes.
5. Popular blogs are very regular publishing articles but you write whenever you feel that your blog hits are slowing down.
If you are a professional blogger or even if you are not, key for a successful blog is to write write and write more and more articles regularly. But remember again , be GENUINE !
If you now think that why your blog is not so popular on Internet, you must be doing something wrong. Actually there’s nothing special about any blog but only that they THINK and work hard to write something that whole world later appreciate.
