Watch Youtube videos on slow bandwidth connection

Youtube So many phones these days are coming up with video player to stream Youtube videos directly into them. For low speed data plans of mobile phones Youtube has a separate accessible link made specially for it here. It uses simple rtsp stream to play the videos on devices that supports such streams. Desktop PCs with low Internet bandwidth are no exception to it. You just need a video player like VLC or Real Player which supports RTSP streaming and follow simple steps below

1. Open Youtube website and select the video to be watched which will be in format like http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=<videoID>

2. Copy the videoID from your selected video link from the address bar as shown below.

3. Paste the video id on the link http://m.youtube.com/details?v=<videoID>&client=mv-google&warned=1 and open it on your browser as shown below.

4. On the opened window right click on the “Watch Video” link and copy the link location.

5. Open VLC/Real Player or any other player that supports rtsp streaming and open the network stream giving the path to above copied link and enjoy your low bitrate video.

The video quality is really not comparable to the normal Youtube version but for low bandwidth speeds this will work like a wonder if you don’t want to see the high quality content and probably are more interested in the information in it.

Note: For some links the video may not be available for mobile phones.
