In this digital era, social factor counts a lot. Think of some ways by which we used to send news to a person sitting miles away some 50 years back and also think of ways by which we used to socialize then.
Twitter has proved it again that the social importance is what we need now. If you are not aware, there was one airplane crash that happened at Amsterdam Schipol Airport today.
The eyewitness was driving along the highway when he took the pictures of the crashed Turkish Airlines with his phone and uploaded it on the internet and then broadcasted it to whole world using Twitter.
The news was picked up by CNN and after confirming with Dutch officials, within few minutes the news was in front of the whole world.
Well, this is not something new that breaking news is delivered via some social networking site. Earlier we have seen how Twitter was accountable in giving news about Earthquake. Recently during Mumbai attacks also there were some people who sent messages giving the live report on Twitter.
How can you be the "Twitter reporter"
If something is very cheap and effective then definitely it has got value. You only need to have a mobile handset that supports SMS (Short messaging Service) which I think 99.9% of handsets have.
If your phone supports Twitter apps then the job can be made much simpler and economical by sending messages using your data plan. And if the app supports uploading of picture via Twitpic then you can add more value to your message.
How to search for the latest Twitter updates
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist here. Just go to Twitter Search and enter the topic you are interested in. And you can search on Twitter even if you are not registered member.
If you still haven’t started Tweeting then do that now immediately. Once you are there do follow us on Twitter to get updated about our latest articles.
