Without iTunes how to transfer mp3 songs and videos from computer to your iPod or iPhone

It kind of frustrates me every time I need to tranfer songs using my laptop as iTunes is setup on my desktop PC. I have to copy the song or get it again to my laptop using iTunes store. There’s no other way of copying it.
