Tata Nano, World’s cheapest car is finally launched today in India. Tata has stick to its Promise of Rs. 1 lakh car (2000$) for the base model. Booking of Nano will start from April 9 to April 25.
TATA Nano will be available in 3 variants –
NANO (Standard) – This is the basic version without any air conditioning, only driver seat adjustment and will be available in 3 colors (Bright red, ivory white, summer blue)
NANO CX – This will have heating and air conditioning, booster assisted brakes, two-tone seats, nap rest on rear seat and will be available in 5 attractive colors. (ivory white, summer blue, champagne gold, lunar silver)
NANO LX – This is the high end version of TATA Nano. Along with the features of NANO CX this will have central locking, front power Windows, body colored bumper, fabric seat covers, fog lamps, rear spoiler and will be available in premium colors. (lunar silver, sunshine yellow, champagne gold)
With high fuel efficiency and mileage of around 24km/litre Tata Nano is BS III compliant and BS IV ready. All models are petrol though it seems that diesel model may be announced soon.
PRICE OF TATA NANO
Depending on the state tax etc price may vary from state to state in India. Though the base model will start from 100,000 Rs. (ex showroom price) and customers will have to pay road tax, insurance etc after that. (on-road price may go up to 1,25,000 Rs. for base model)
CX and LX variant will cost around Rs. 125,000 (ex-showroom price) which is still worth as you are getting air conditioning and power windows and central locking. (on road price may go as high as 1,60,000 Rs. for LX variant)

BOOKING OPTIONS
Booking of Tata Nano will start from April 9th and will go on till April 25th. There are limited number of cars rolled out initially (100,000 units).
You can get the application forms for Rs. 300 at State Bank of India branches as well as outlets of Westside, Croma stores, World of Titan and Tata Indicom stores.
You can either pay the full booking amount or can avail financing options too. You can also book Tata Nano online from http://www.tatanano.com/
It is expected that there can be around 1,000,000 bookings for Tata Nano. Tata will allot only 100,000 cars in the first phase of delivery through lucky draw system which will be announced after 2 months of bookings and the delivery will begin in July.
