Microsoft Outlook – How to set alarms and reminders

It’ll be very wrong to say that Microsoft Outlook can only be used to send and receive mails. You can configure it to get mails from almost any service including gmail, yahoo, live hotmail etc , but did you know that you can also set birthday reminder alerts and alarms to wake you up in the morning ?

How to set Alarms -

Outlook new apppointment 1. Open Outlook and from the Toolbar Menu, Click on the New button and select Appointment. You can also use a shortcut CTRL + SHIFT + A keys together to open up the Window.

 

2. You can set the alarm by changing the Start Time and End Time keeping the Date as same and changing the time of the Alarm. Once it is done, press the Save & Close Button.

You can also set the Subject and Title to remind you why did you set the alarm.

To set Birthday/Anniversary Reminders

Follow the above two steps mentioning the date and time. Now from the Ribbon Toolbar Menu press Recurrence button. A new window will open up. Check the Yearly box so that the event will repeat itself yearly. You can also explore other options if you want which are quite easy to understand.

Outlook appointments

So if you keep your Outlook always on for checking your mails or RSS Feeds then you’ll get all your alarms and reminders on your computer Screen on your scheduled date and time.
