In Microsoft Windows Vista, UAC (User Account Control) is a security feature that every time prompts the user if any administrative task by any third party application is required. This task may be writing files into System folder, changing registry value or may be modifying any critical system information.
If you are annoyed by those pop ups asking you to allow Vista to perform the task every few minutes, then there’s one secure solution without disabling it completely.
Norton Labs has come up with their own User Account Control where they override few settings of the original UAC to give you better user experience.
The main purpose of Norton UAC is to build a white list database of all the applications that you run based on various administrative actions. The tool has “remember me” feature which will remember your earlier actions and give recommendations on the basis of it without prompting and annoying you by showing a pop up.
