How to make Windows XP to have same view for every folder

Windows XP Yesterday I was pretty much frustrated when explorer.exe was crashing on opening a particular folder containing videos. The problem being I was not able to change the folder view as first I had to open the folder to do that.

Windows XP remembers the folder view settings of each folder that you have set it for. These view settings could be  Thumbnails, Tiles, Icon, Details or List View. You can change the folder view by Right-Clicking on window area of any folder and selecting the View Options. Or you can also do that from the Toolbar area.

How to have same view for every folder ?

Open any folder which you are able to open. Right Click on window area and from View select the view you want to have for all folders.

Windows XP View

After setting the view from the Toolbar Menu select Tools –> Folder Options. This will open a new Settings  Window for folder options. Select View Tab from the top and click on the button which says “Apply to all Folders” as shown below -

Press the OK Button and you are done! Now open any folder and it’ll open in the view which you had set earlier.
