On some of my desktop machines I don’t sync my iPhone or iPod, so I never installed full version QuickTime Player by Apple which is installed along with Apple iTunes. With so many other light weight media players, I really don’t want to install QuickTime on any of my machine actually.
Only reason why I install QuickTime is because some browsers can’t play embedded .mov and .mp4 files by default, though it really frustrates me that why didn’t they use Flash swf ?
If you are also like me then you should download QuickTime alternative software which is a perfect solution bundled with Media Player Classic and supports playing of all file extensions that QuickTime plays. Please note that if you have iPhone or iPod that you sync with your iTunes then it is not recommended to install QuickTime alternative as iTunes may show you errors while you sync your videos with your device.
