Sony Ericsson W995 and Nokia N86 features 8 mega pixel camera

Sony Ericsson W995 was announced in Mobile World Congress 2009 and recently Nokia N86 first snapshots also got leaked. Both the phones fit in almost the same category and boast 8 mega pixel camera which is too much for a mobile phone.

Features of Nokia N86 have not been officially announced but from the Carl Zeiss Backgrounder document by Nokia it is very clear that it has 8 mega pixel 2.4-4.8/4/6 Auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss Optics.

Some similarities and comparisons -
Both the phones have slider form factor. Also both of them are equipped with GPS. Not sure about Nokia but W995 has geo-tagging and face detection apart from other regular phone features.

Touchscreen ? – W995 is not a touchscreen phone and looking at Nokia N86 screen size, we are positive that it also doesn’t have touch screen like Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

Most of the mobile users are not a fan of mobile camera quality, but with 8 mega pixel we have lot of expectation especially with Sony looking at its CyberShot series.

We are eagerly waiting for the pricing info and the availability. Subscribe our feed to know the latest updates about these phones.

Update:  Nokia has officially announced Nokia N86 model. Along with 8 mega pixel camera, Nokia N86 features 8GB of memory expansion with microSD card slot. It also has GPS and geotagging feature. TV-Out is also supported. Nokia N86 also has a kickstand so that you can watch videos or play games hands free.

But Nokia has given no hints to the price tag of N86 at MWC 2009.
