Nokia, the world leader in GSM mobile phones has been awarded the best prize for its environmental contribution at Mobile World Congress. Not just that, it also received the top prize for the Best Mobile Internet Service for Nokia Sports Tracker.
Nokia started this environment friendly initiative in 1997 when they recycled their old or unwanted models. This is one of the biggest effort comparing all other mobile phone companies.
Not just that, Nokia also started a new concept phone ,which was termed as "Remade" , in 2008 (shown in picture). The phone was entirely made from recyclable materials. They even used aluminum cans, plastic bottles and tires to construct this phone. Its screen was also made from recyclable class which is unbelievable.
Nokia is also working together with other mobile companies to reduce the energy consumption of mobile phones. If you have noticed the battery life of earlier phones were so less as compared to the new models.
