Make your readers enjoy your post, try blogging with a cuppa hot coffee

BloggingRecent research has proved that you become more friendly while you are holding a hot drink. Probably hormonal reactions tend to give signals to your brain to react in that manner.

If you are a regular "hot coffee" drinker like me then you’ll never know that you may end up writing such post on a 2 hour flight with an hour of other activities. But I just had a single cup!

A blog post may take you 10 mins to 10 days to think of something that your readers would love to read. Some bloggers like to write a post in one go sometimes spending hours and hours and there are some like me who write in installments. But the time taken to write a post is independent of the enjoyment that reader will get after reading it.

Many a times, people ask me, what  are the things that your reader will expect from you ?

And I give them same answer –

1.Enjoyment
2. Knowledge/Learning

Of course you should remember that it’s difficult to learn things without the "enjoyment" factor.

Now How to make your readers enjoy your post ?

As per the title, I am not going to tell you to drink x cups of coffee/tea and write whatever you feel like. This post is more on the readers side. Every "successful blogger" is first a reader and then a blogger.

- Readers love to read and enjoy a post where they need to THINK.

And this is a proven fact. I was reading some dugg-ed article the other day where they had listed some 10 gaming consoles that changed the world’s gaming industry. I was instantly reminded of my Sega that I used to own a long time back and now I have XBox 360. I couldn’t stop myself commenting on that article.

- Readers love to read something that is NOT MUCH KNOWN to them.

Giving them extensive knowledge about something, its uses, advantages and benefits with regard to other similar stuff already there. Something which you are sure not even 5% of the people are aware of. This requires time, but the results will compensate for your time.

- Readers enjoy if a blogger also enjoy writing the same post.

Mark this point. If you are not enjoying writing something and writing only for the sake of writing and earning few bucks then how can you expect your reader to love your work. That’s not fair at all !

Conclusion

If you are writing a post just to write regularly without considering the fact that whether it’ll benefit anyone or not then you should stop blogging. By benefit I also mean knowledge or learning based articles. For a good post you need to give some time before you can even call it a "good" post.
