Problem:
I have a plain simple keyboard without any multimedia keys and I am a regular music listener in Windows Media player which doesn’t have global hotkeys like winamp to change tracks.
How can I have global hotkeys enabled for Windows Media player to change tracks when other apps are in foreground ?
Solution:
I downloaded sharp keys. Mapped my unused function keys F7 through F10 (you can map whatever you feel like). Now I am able to change song tracks while I am working on some other thing just by pressing the function keys I mapped.
And you don’t need to run any app in the background for this. Sharp Keys will map the keys in the registry itself. You just need to either log off and log on or reboot your computer once after mapping the keys.
That’s so simple !
