Be it an iPhone or iPod touch, they don’t come up with Radio receiver and to listen to radio station you need to buy those accessories for your device. With lots of free station airing good music you don’t need to create playlists at all.
Public radio Tuner is a FREE iPhone/iPod touch which is a collaborative effort by Public Radio Exchange (PRX) along with National Public Radio, Public Interactive, American Public Media etc.
Similar to those FREE to air radio stations, Public radio Tuner app (FREE app) will search for the local internet radio streams in your area. Even if you are outside, you can access the hotspots to listen to the free radio stream.
Well, now you will ask why do we need this app when we can have an additional accessory to access so many other free radio stations. Later version of the app will include program guides and probably catalog for on-demand listening of music too.
This is really a cool project and that’s the reason just after few days of launch it is now one of the most downloaded free iPhone app.
