I really don’t understand what’s the need of invisible modes in Internet Messengers. If someone doesn’t want to chat then he could always go offline. Anyways, that is just my opinion.
Yahoo messenger is one of the most used IM of the world. Invisible stealth mode is supported in it since it’s launch. There are actually many ways of checking if a person is invisible or really offline. I’m discussing few of them below
1. Inviting the person to the conference - Yes! just invite the person to a conference , if he’s invisible then he’ll reject the invitation and you’ll get the response. If he’s really offline you won’t get any response.
Right click on the person’s name and then select More actions and then select Invite to Conference option.
You can also invite him/her to play a game or send a file also. In every case if you get any response then the person is invisible.
2. Checking through profile page (used to work 2 years back)
Go to person’s yahoo profile page which is like http://profiles.yahoo.com/yahoo_id. It’ll show you the status of the person whether he’s online or offline or invisible. Though I am not sure if it works now due to oncoming of new Yahoo profiles page.
3. Online Yahoo status checker – This is the much simpler and easy way of checking the status. Not only just the status, it’ll also show you the profile picture of the person too.
