5 things you may not know about Opera

Opera LogoOpera is one wonderful light weight and fast browser. Comparing it to Mozilla Firefox or any other browser may not be wise here but fully packed opera truly deserves something. Opera is just not a browser but also comes with an inbuilt Mail Client which is also quite light weight. I won’t start Browser war here again but the following are some shortcuts to make your job easier while browsing.

1.
Apart from the normal CTRL + F search you can also use quick search in opera by pressing “.” (dot) and then typing the query words.

2. Opera comes with inbuilt mouse gesture support but to use them you have to enable them. Go to Tools Menu –> Preference –> Advanced –> Shortcuts and enable mouse gestures from there. You can also add and edit your own gestures in Opera.

3. Also from the above preference window single-key shortcuts can be enabled.

4. When you have several tabs opened you can switch between the tabs by keep holding the right click and then scrolling the mouse wheel to select the desired tab.

5. You can navigate the links using keyboard by pressing Shift + Arrow Keys and Enter to follow the link.

Please note that if you are using older versions of Opera and migrating to 9.5 + then note down the changes in few of the shortcuts.
