Skype 2.8 comes with a new feature called Mood Messages . Basically, Mood messages are like status updates that one user is giving to all of his friends exactly the way Twitter and other micro blogging site does.

Also, using Skype Access now you can get Wi-Fi access to your MacBook using any of the Boingo hotspots. Boingo has more than 100K hotspots spread all over the world.

Apart from that, at MacWorld Truphone has also announced Skype for iPhone sometime in 3rd week of January 2009. Truphone makes applications for mobile phones that connect via internet, decreasing the cost of the call.

Though truphone already has apps for iPhone and iPod touch which allows you to connect to other Truphone users or Google talk user, but the Skype app for iPhone will extend some more possibilities of calling worldwide using cheap Skype out account.

5. Copy Windows Media Player folder to C:\Program Files (backup old folder)
6. Run the player, it should work now.

Recently, a guy from Deviantart was able to extracted Brilliant Black Aero theme for Windows Media player and now again it is latest WMP 12.

How to install/add Google Reader Bookmarklet on your Browser ?

Though if you Login to your Google Reader you can find the same instructions, but just for our readers we have made this simple. Just drag this link to your Bookmarks folder. Whenever you see any web page for which you want to receive updates on your Google reader, just click on the above saved bookmarklet. (Just make sure that you have to login to your Google account before you click the bookmarklet, which otherwise will prompt you to do so.)

And with the Recommendations, Google has added more "social points" to the Reader app. This is in fact a great way for Bloggers and other people on the internet to know what is hot on trends in their particular niche as well.

Today there were tons of threads at Zune forums reporting this "Zune freezing issue". Some people are experiencing white line of death,  some have even reported complete bricking of their device and some are desperately asking fix for their Zune 30GB frozen boot screen.

Why is Zune not working on the new year ?
As of now there’s no response from Microsoft but experts are speculating that this issue is probably because of first 366 days (Leap Year 2008) that Zune is experiencing. Some have even named this to by Z2K9 issue similar to Y2K.

Solution
As we said earlier, there’s no official fix available from Microsoft yet as this issue was reported today only but there’s a quick fix. So if your Zune 30 or Zune 60 is not working, Rapid Repair has come up with early hack to restore Zune to old state. The hack is to change the internal clock of Zune and bring it back to normal timings.

Now Zune support site is displaying the message -

Customers using the Zune 30 might experience problems starting their players. We’re aware of the problem and are working to correct it. The Zune Social might be slow or inaccessible. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience!

Earlier Microsoft offered one month of XBox Live subscription to all the customers having problems with faulty XBox. Now with this Z2K9 issue we hope they’ll give some free music for this.
