Facebook has 5 times more image uploads than Flickr (iPhone ?)

If you’ve read our recent article "10 interesting facts about facebook", we have mentioned that there are about 30 million photos uploaded each day which is quite a number considering there are other popular photo sharing services like Flickr.

TechCrunch has come up with stats (via comscore inc) which really shocked us as total number of images in Facebook (15 billion) is almost five times the number of images in Flickr (around 3 billion).

Yahoo’s Flickr adds about 3 million photos each day in contrary with Facebook which adds around 30 million photos each day. This clearly proves that social networks are still more preferred to any other photo sharing services.

If you are a professional photographer then there’s no doubt, Flickr is best for you, but with so many phones coming up with Facebook app it’s so easy to upload your family photos to Facebook nowadays.

If you check the Camera finder service on Flickr , iPhone tops the list with no other phone even coming close to it. Also if you own an iPhone and an avid user of Facebook then you must be knowing how easy it is to upload your photos to Facebook from iPhone.

You should also notice that Flickr has almost half the number of traffic compared to Facebook even though it is just a photo management service and Facebook is entirely social networking (even more!).

Another reason could be that there is a cap on Flickr uploads and to get a premium account you need to spend few bucks on monthly or yearly basis.

So which service do you use to manage and share your photos ?
