Beer as an alternative fuel for your car

beer as alternative fuel

Once the Beer is brewed, lot of waste is left which has around 5 to 8 percent of ethanol content. A brewing company in United States, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has developed a system to convert this waste into usable fuel.

Eventually, we have to find an alternative to produce the fuel in an artificial way. During the time of bad economy and high Fuel consumption all around the world, there has been lot of research going on to develop this so called "artifical fuel".

The system which is called Microfueler will raise the low level of alcohol content on the waste yeast to around 15% allowing to yield more ethanol.

This not only will provide economic friendly alternative medium but also the way it is produced is environment friendly.

There had been lot of research already done on this topic earlier, but we still have to see something actually in production.

Supermileage competition which is a fuel efficiency collegiate level contest is held every year in United States where students from all over the world participate. You’ll be surprised to know that a group of students have even achieved 1716 miles per US gallon of mileage which is just wow!

Lets hope the recession ends and we see more of Green alternatives.
