How to Batch resize multiple images in a folder in Windows

Are you also just tired of resizing images using MS Paint or your favorite photo editor one by one ? Not only it takes so much of your time but also it can also make the resized images to lose some quality.

It’s highly recommended that when you send your photos in email, you should resize the image captures taken by your Digital Camera as they produce very high resolution images of very big size. The other person receiving those images will have to wait for so much time if the image size is large depending on the bandwidth.

If you know Photoshop then there’s already a way in it to resize multiple images but if you don’t have much knowledge about these photo editors then there’s a small tool Painless Image Resizer using which you can batch resize multiple images in a folder.

Steps to be followed -

  1. Download Painless Image Resizer from here.
  2. Keep all the images that you want to resize in one Folder.
  3. Once downloaded just run the app. You don’t need to install it, you can run it directly.
  4. From the top Browse the folder created in step 2. It’ll show you the images that are there in the folder on left pane.
  5. On the right, Press the "I Agree" button that comes for the first time your run the app. You’ll be shown some options to select from

  6. Select the appropriate option. If you don’t have much idea then you can choose from first two options "Decrease image size x times" or to magnify "Increase image size x times". Also you can set the quality of the images too apart from scaling options.
    If you want all the images without losing any quality from the original images then set it to maximum. But if you want to reduce the size of the resized images then decrease the quality as per your need.
  7. Press the Start Button. Your images will be stored in Output folder.
