Last year MTNL announced the first ever 3G network in India. 3G will enable high speed internet access on all the mobile phones which further will allow you to browse websites at blistering speeds on your mobile Phones.
The 3G service which will be launching next week in Delhi and around first week of February in Mumbai is give a name as MTNL Jadoo.
Recently, Apple’s iPhone 3G was also launched in India but without any 3G network provided by Vodafone or Airtel guys. To access 3G on iPhone the only way now is to jailbreak iPhone and then start using MTNL’s 3G Network after it is launched next week.
No doubt, once MTNL succeeds in setting up India’s first 3G network there will be hordes of other vendors like Idea, Airtel, Vodafone, Virgin Mobile in India that will start looking for setting up one.
If you don’t know, iPhone is not the only one which can access 3G but most of the high end Nokia phones also supports 3G networks. So let say if it takes hours to browse a site in Opera-Mini in your current phone, after 3G you’ll be able to experience broadband like speeds which will in turn give rise to cheap voice communication too.
Currently we have no idea about the 3G data plan price that MTNL will set but looking at the current GPRS/EDGE data plan , 3G is definitely going to be very expensive on your Pocket.
